Benefits of being a Builder

Becoming a member

Each community member, will have written and committed to a Pledge to personally contribute to realizing the Community’s vision, laid out in the Civics Unplugged Community Declaration.

The founding Builders were approved by the Civics Unplugged team before July 4th, 2020. Almost all of the founding Builders came from the Civics Unplugged Founding Fellowship class.

Now that the Civics Unplugged Community has launched, the Civics Unplugged Steering Committee is solely responsible for approving new members that don't "graduate" from a cycle of the CU Fellowship program.

Builders are leaders of Generation Z, most of whom will have been invited into the community though the Civics Unplugged Fellowship. These are the young "Civic Superheroes" who have the time, passion, and imagination to address the pressing challenges facing humanity. There are two ways to join the Builder Community: Completing the Civics Unplugged Fellowship and through invitation or approval by the Steering Committee. Regardless of the method of joining all Builders must write and commit to a Pledge to personally contribute to realizing the vision for humanity, laid out in the Civics Unplugged Community Declaration.
